The right tooling depends on the material of your finished product. Prototype tooling may be 3-D printed, or made from wood, fiberglass or composites, which is easy and less costly to modify. Production tooling is typically crafted from aluminum, which ensures better consistency during long production runs.

CNC Trimming – Large scale 5 axis CNC trimming router is capable of precision trimming every time. With CNC trimming capabilities of 5 feet X 10 feet X 4 feet no project is too large. Use of CNC trimming reduces cost and improves quality.

Rapid Prototyping

3D printing technology is available to rapid prototype tooling. 3D printed tooling is good for short runs.

Shipping Strip Project – 3D printed molds mounted to wood base was a low cost and effective method to prove design and service a short production run. Over 250 parts was run with the prototype tooling and is still being used today. Total project turnaround time was 6 days.

Pipe Bell Project – 3D printed mold was used to manufacture a pipe connection. This prototype mold proved the design and produced parts for pressure testing. Total project turnaround time 5-days.

Pipe Bell Testing Project – In-house fabrication attached pipe bell to pipe and tested to meet ASTM requirements. In-house testing capabilities proved the design meets national standards. In-house gasket extrusion and pressure testing provides fast turnaround time for large projects. Total fabrication and testing turnaround time 3-days.
